Title IX and Sexual Assault / Harassment

Plymouth State University is committed to maintaining an environment free of all forms of sex-based discrimination including sexual harassment and sexual violence.

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 states that:

No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.

This mandate applies to every aspect of a federally funded education program or activity including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Admissions and Recruitment
  • Athletics
  • Career Education
  • Employment Discrimination
  • Pregnant and Parenting Students
  • Sexual Harassment
  • Student Services
